Theatre is an animal unique from all other art forms. It has the ability to create a visceral response in its audience. It is a writer’s medium that has existed for thousands of years and continues to go on primarily because of people’s passion for live storytelling. We formed Do Not Disturb Theatre to produce new American Theatre, by living American playwrights who will be instrumental in the mounting of their work. We bring challenging and diverse plays to life on the stage. We aim to entice new audiences to the theatre while re-energizing the current generation of theatergoers. Our goal is to have audiences exit the theatre and say something other than, “that’s over, let’s go eat some place.” We challenge our audience by presenting both new works and new ways of seeing to the world of theatre. We will continue to build a web of artistic and business associates who share our goals and passions. This web will extend as our collaborative grows and new American theatre is given life.
